MISSION WITH THE WOMEN OF PINE RIDGE   On October 12, Saturday Sisters LifeServe Group will be serving a gathering of mothers on Pine Ridge, bringing items that are greatly needed to meet the needs of their children and grandchildren. As Lakota elder Norma Blacksmith expressed recently, the situation is often “desperate.”  Pine Ridge Reservation is one of the poorest areas in our country and we can all help!   Saturday Sisters will be collecting donations for our “giveaway” on Sunday, September 29th and October 6th. The goal is to fill 75 bags with the items listed below.  Will you help us?   Here’s a challenge…like we do with the Christmas boxes every year, consider FILLING A BAG.  Make it a family event and shop together.  Perhaps you could even see if there are persons at your work or school that want to participate as well.  Any items left after the giveaway will be distributed to others in need.   WHAT WE ARE COLLECTING FOR THE FOOD BAGS:  Norma has asked that we fill the bags with the same items so they are equal.
